Change of beliefs.

While trying to beat my thoughts into a format suitable for posting into a reply at reddit, I came to a little bit of a realisation about my beliefs. I've always called myself Christian, having been brought up in a Xtian family, but as time progressed (as time is wont to do.), my beliefs changed.

Then, at 16 or so (I can't remember when, exactly...) I was confirmed into the Methodist church. Shortly after, I had a crisis of faith. Yes, some of my beliefs were along the lines of those of the church, but some weren't. And some were obstinately perpendicular.

[political rant] How in the name of all that is good in this world...

How in the name of all that is good in the world did people vote in the British Nazi National Party for our representatives in the European Parliament?

Their candidate, Nick Griffith, is openly racist and homophobic, quoted as calling Britain "A multi-racial hell hole". He also denies that the Holocaust ever occured, saying "I am well aware that the orthodox opinion is that six million Jews were gassed and cremated or turned into lamp-shades. Orthodox opinion also once held that the earth is flat..."

An epidemic of crack attacks, it seems...

I know I'm a little slow on the news front at the moment, (One could say I'm just slow in general, but... =p ), but it seems to me that there is a sudden epidemic of crack attacks.
Okay, epidemic of 4 at the moment, as far as I know... but still!

Astalavista just bought it again, and this time it's personal.

Not content with taking down Astalavista's web-server (Log of this attack), the same folks (anti-sec) came back to take out Glafkos' personal box (Log of this attack).

Microsoft and the broken US Patent system

From: Slashdot: Your Rights Online. Microsoft files parallel processing patents.

Microsoft has applied for 3 patents regarding parallel processing, and while I'm struggling to process them (my brain can't parse legalese), it seems that they are trying to patent things that people have been doing for longer than Microsoft have existed.

Yay Exams and Voting.

The day-before-last, I was woken up by my mother panicking madly as my college had phoned up to say that was late for one of my exams. Never mind the fact this was a day before I thought I had an exam, and I was so confused and disoriented that I could barely remember my name, never mind something like the formula of expoxyethane.

So, I sat an exam that I didn't know I was timetabled to have*, and couldn't remember any of the chemistry that I should have done. I have a feeling that I may not have done anywhere near good enough to get a pass.

Artistic Ponderings

Today I uploaded something to my FurAffinity account for the first time in over a year, bringing my total number of submissions to the whopping total of... 3.

Banshee's Burlesque status update

If you are an observant person, you may have noticed that I removed the link to the Banshee's Burlesque page. This is mainly because, with a lack of design, the project was not going to go anywhere.

The source as it stands at the last time I edited it is still on the git server.

SSL

I have finally added SSL support to the site, thanks to CACert. :)
It took me long enough. Every page bar one that I viewed to try and figure out why the site wasn't working went into the "dig into $configFile that isn't there on your server, or looks very different, and tinker with $option".
The solution? a2enmod ssl. Yes. that simple.
